Brief Answer:
Nasivion drops should help

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthCareMagic. Congratulations on having a baby after so much efforts to conceive. This is a valuable baby for you. The precautions required would however be just like that for any other child. Nasal blockage is a common problem in infants. Babies are nasal breathers and hence nasal block is a major issue for them. Nasoclear nasal drops (saline drops) are generally effective in relieving it but in case it does not work, you may try Nasivion drops which act as decongestant.
If possible, giving steam inhalation to the baby may be helpful. Just take the baby in your lap and place a source of steam before you. The steam would be in the air and automatically the baby will be breathing it in. It will help in diluting the cough.

In general the weight of the baby is supposed to double by 5 months of age with respect to weight at birth. As it is about 6 months of age, it is time to wean the baby and to introduce semi solids into the diet. You may start giving mashed boiled rice with pulses and vegetables. You may also add chicken or eggs in mashed form. Continue breast feeding as earlier though the frequency may slightly be reduced. Drinking habits are normal and you need not bother about it. The semi solids will give the baby additional nutrients which would help your baby to grow.

Hope that helps. Feel free to revert back in case of further queries if any.
