Suggest Treatment For Muscle Tightness And Pain In Legs

default
Posted on Fri, 17 Apr 2015
Question: I have muscle tightness and pain in my legs, very stiff ankles and intermittant pain in my feet. Sometimes when trying to stretch, I get tingling on the top of feet or the back of my thighs will XXXXXXX horse. This morning the back of my right calf was in such a knot it hurts to stand or walk. The knot is very noticeable to the eye and touch. Most of the time the leg muscles have that uncomfortable ache like the day after a longer than normal run. Similar feeling is starting in my hands and arms, but not at the same level or magnitude. My health is otherwise find except for my blood pressure is high (165/95) and not yet treated by medication. X-rays for hands and feet were OK, and the only outside of range on blood test was low phosphorus.

Brief Answer:
More diagnostics needed to rule out immune-related tissue disease

Detailed Answer:
Dear Patient,

if someone with your symptoms comes into my office otherwise healthy, i would:

1. rule out some autoimmune tissue diseases like connective tissue disease. Common blood test would be ANA-Antibodies, to rule out some immune related vaskulitis also p-ANCA is advisable.
(Please let me know if that was done already)

2. Also i would do an ultrasound of arteries and veins of the legs to rule out a problem with circulation or thrombosis.
(Please also let me know if that was done already)

If any of this was done already, get back to me then i will be happy to lay out other possibilities.

Your high blood pressure has most likely no direct connection to it, but should be controlled with medication.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
