Suggest Treatment For Muscle Spasm In Leg

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Jul 2014
Question: Hi XXXXXXX a few years I had an xray at the top of my right leg where it joins the trunk in the front, it's closer to the left hand side, just a bit in, there is a bone there which sometimes is painful I think at the top, also an area just to the right of that bone can be painful. My leg gives way on me when walking or standing up from a sitting position, more often now that it did, I also find when lying in bed a night if I turn into several favourite sleeping positions, I can't because it is painful for my right leg. The sleeping position pain is fairly new, the leg giving way seems to be doing it more often too now. My joints can creak as well, mostly in the legs. I take MRI Ultimate Bone & Joint tablets in the mornings and evenings plus two Lyprinol at these times too. Is there anything else I can do please. Thanking you,XXXX

Brief Answer:
Can be a ligament tear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain and a sense of giving way that you have is likely to be due to a muscle spasm or a labral tear in the hip joint. This can also be related to a decrease in the joint lubricants due to arthritis.
You can get a suitable muscle relaxant prescribed in combination with a pain killer to see if it helps. In case the pain persists then getting an MRI scan of the hip will help in proper diagnosis and further treatment.
I hope this answers your query.
