Question: I was diagnosed with MCTD after 20 years of being passed around by docs who couldn't figure out what was wrong. The diagnosis came from a Rheumatologist who checked labs and came to the conclusion that it was the problem. If I were your patient what would be the best course of action.

Brief Answer:
Please send your ENA profile.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that in MCTD there can be an overlap of presentations of different diseases so thats why its called a mixed disorder . In this the patient is treated according to the symptoms that she is having . I note that you are already on enbrel , methotrexate for your Rheumatoid arthritis so thats pretty OK . Please send me your ANA , ENA profile so that I can have an idea on what basis your diagnosis was made . Thus will be able to guide you better.

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
