Brief Answer:
Lifestyle changes,Birth control pills,Metformin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to HCM,

I can understand your concerns.

I have gone through your report.

As ultrasound report tells that you have bilateral polycystic disease.which is the reason for not getting periods regularly and weight gain.

First,I will suggest that you should make some lifestyle changes to help control your symptoms like eat healthy and balanced diet, exercise regularly. Aim to do at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week(including 10minutes brisk walk). It will help not only in reducing weight also in regulating period.

And to regulate your periods I recommend birth control pills for three months or only progesterone tablets.Consult with your gynecologist.(Prescription drugs)

You can continue metformin as it also helps in regulating period and weight loss.

Surgery is not the first line of treatment(which is laproscopic ovarian drilling). Most patients response with medicine only.

Hope this helps,

Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.

Hi

Thanks For brief explanation.

I have few more queries
1) Since my cyst is small by doing regular exercise and mediation is it curable. is that cyst washed out .
2) ill continue metformin tabs 250Mg. can i use same or do i need to increase the dose. and how long do i need to use tab. from almost 1 month im using it but i didt get my periods.
3) along with Metformin do i need to take control pills for three months only progesterone tablets.
4) As my doctor suggested to use iron tabs which are supradyn tabs and Mumfer XT Tabs do i need to continue along with all the above tabs or do i need to stop taking iron tabs.

Brief Answer:
You should continue metformin along with birth control pills.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry for late response.

1.PCOS is a set of symptoms due to a hormone imbalance in women. Symptoms include: irregular or no menstrual periods, heavy periods, excess body and facial hair, acne, pelvic pain, trouble getting pregnant, and patches of thick, darker, velvety skin.PCOS is not curable but with drugs symptoms are treatable.

2.Metformin slows the growth of abnormal hair and, may help ovulation to return, decreased body mass.you should continue it atleast 3-6months with same dose.

3.Yes,along with Metformin you should take birth control pills,it helps in regulate menses.

4.iron and multivitamin have no role in treating PCOS.these are only supplements.

Consult your gynecologist about it.

Hope this helps,

feel free to ask any query.

Thanks.
