Suggest Treatment For Lung Inflammation Caused By Stress

default
Posted on Sat, 13 Aug 2016
Question: Dr Bhavsar, Pulmonologist

Take a balloon and put in in a 4 liter bottle and inflate it. Then put the balloon in a 2 liter or smaller bottle and inflate it. That is the way my lungs feel anymore when I try to inhale. Not sure if it is stress, inflammation or what is causing that. I just seem to get about half of what i used to get.

Since you told me to trust the PFT, YOU and LOCAL Pulmonologist along with my psychiatrist for NO LUNG Disease, you have to explain the effects or anything that causes this, include aging in it if it has a part to this.

Answered by Dr. Drkaushal85 (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It is stress and related inflammation only.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You seems frustrated today.
Here is the explanation.
Stress and anxiety cause inflammation in whole body.
Some people show more in lungs, some show more in stomach, some show in heart.
You are showing more inflammation in lungs.
And this inflammation causes chest tightness, chest pressure, heaviness etc.
Aging has additional effect on all these.
So aging do affect inflammation and your symptoms.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I sent you a photo attachment. The picture is of one of several places that I have had a hard time breathing after climbing the stairs or walking an incline.

I cannot say if it's just anxious stimulation and anxious thoughts but over the last 15 years, that sensation has progressively increased and I wonder if it is because of my normal anxiety I have had and the added fright and anxiety that I developed from watching my mother slowly die of copd and the thought that I may have it. Or if smoking has damaged some portion of my airways or the lack of good exercise with controlled breathing. Or any combination of the above.

When I think back on certain events of climbing stairs, walking up hills I think of the extra effort of breathing I had. But I can't think of any anxiety at the time. Unless it's latent panic symptoms

Your thoughts

I resent the picture 2 more times. Hope you get it

While waiting for your response, I had time to think about that events of the stairs and hills. I have decided that since I am trying to relax and get my breathing under control, I should not think of these things as a lung issue from smoking but possibly due to lack of good exercise, aging and latent anxiety mediators and inflammation

I could keep worrying about it or rationalize the problem, if it's just due to any of the possibilities, than I can learn to adjust to the issue and be ready for it and not afraid of it. You have said that you believe my anxiety has been going and growing for many many many years.

I have done many other physical things over the many years and had little to no issues until I had stressful times and no exercise times. But I do not want to use that as the excuse until I know for certain that it is the cause.

Sorry to say but I still don't get that staircase picture.
I got other two similar pictures.
Which is this place?
The place is beautiful. And is that you, sitting with the lady?
I want to go there. It's serene.
And yes, you should not think about lung issues and just relax. Lack of exercise, aging and stress are the causative factors in your case.
Please tell me answers of above asked questions. And send me staircase picture also.
