Hi,

Proteus mirabilis and staph aureus are causing opportunistic infections such as pneumonia. This can happen if:
- you have undergone through a medical intervention with instruments being infected;
- you have weakened immune system or
- been hospitalized (can occur as secondary infection).

Doxycycline is a good choice of antibiotic, however, antibiotics can be selected from the culture of the phlegm.
