Question: A hearing specialist told me I have a bump on both eardrums. He said he wasn't concerned bc the bump is on both ears. I have had stapedectomies on both ears. Could this be scar tissue?

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be scar tissue

Detailed Answer:
Hello

The bump is unlikely to be a scary tissue.

The ear is in front of the joint called as temporomandibular joint or the jaw joint. in many patients this joint may slightly project into the ear canal causing a bump. This is perfectly natural and needs no treatment. Please don't worry!!

Take care
