Brief Answer:
Needs excision biopsy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank for your query.
Noted your history of a lump about the size of 2.5 inches in diameter on the outer thigh for about a year but seems to be getting larger recently.

This is definitely a cause of concern for the following reasons:
- 2.5 inches is a large size.
- Outer part of the thigh is a place where there will be friction forces working due to pressure from pants.
- Recently getting larger is not a good sign.

I would advise you to get this excised and send the specimen for histo-pathology.
This will achieve 2 goals:
. You get rid of a mass which is not a normal part of the body
. You get a confirmed diagnosis.

This may most probably a lipoma.
I hope this answer helps you to get a proper and early diagnosis and treatment.
