Suggest Treatment For Lump On Gum Before Root Canal Treatment

default
Posted on Thu, 4 Dec 2014
Question: I have an upper molar that I am waiting to have a root canal on. I am on antibiotics and have just noticed a rather large lump in my gum above that tooth. It does not hurt. Do you have any idea what that might be? Never experienced that before. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Abscess

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

The large lump in your gum could be an abscess which might required to be drained with a small incision. Continue to take antibiotics as prescribed, it should settle down within a week

I wish you good health

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
