Brief Answer:
Verification can only be by getting MRI.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
If you have tear in L5-S1 Disc , you will have pain and may be radiation to one leg. pain may increase on coughing or straining.
The best way to confirm the tear is through MRI. Clinically it is not possible to differentiate between tear ,bulge ,stenosis etc. So I suggest go for a MRI L s Spine.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
