Suggest Treatment For Lower Right-sided Pain In Buttocks Causing Painful Walking

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Dec 2015
Question: I have pain, lower right back side, seems to be location specific at the highest extent of my right rear end. A movement that creates pain is a straight right leg lift with my right knee locked. If in a standing position I lift my right knee straight up like a bicycle pedaling motion, I don't have pain. I also don't have pain walking, sleeping or sitting in most positions. Looking at myself in the mirror, it appears that I can no longer stand up straight (my upper body appears to be listing to the left) and my wife believes that the upper portion of my rear end on the right side is swollen. No blood evidence in urine or stool. I've had this pain for a few days. Each day I have little pain upon waking up and it gets progressively more noticeable as the day progresses. Thoughts?

I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns
is there any history of trauma ? what is status of your physical activity?
The pain which you have described appear most probably due to musculoskeletal in origin. Meet an orthopedic surgeon so that it can be adequately addressed.
There is need to get the x ray lumbosacral spine to look for any bone pathology and disc spacing. An ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvis is quite helpful in this setting.
After then we will be able to figure it out. you may need to take anti inflammatory drugs like mefanamic acid coupled with muscle relaxants like thiocholchicoside. avoid vigorous physical activity particularly bending.
hope your query is adeqautely addressed , if you still have any feel free to ask
