Suggest treatment for lower right abdominal pain

Posted on Wed, 9 Aug 2017 in Abdominal Pain
Question: I have acute (bends me over and makes me naseaus) lower right abdominal pain which begins about 3-5 minutes after taking a drink of coffee, water, pedialyte.. This has happenned 3 times in the last hour. The pain lasts about 5 minutes before dissipating. In about 10 minutes I feel good enough to move around. I am a serious athlete and did a very strenous bike time trial yesterday after which I am a bit dehydrated which is why I need to be able to drink water.

Brief Answer:
Muscle sprain due to strenuous bike time.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query,

I've gone through all your details and appreciate your concern.

A muscle strain, or pulled muscle, occurs when your muscle is overstretched or torn. This usually occurs as a result of fatigue, overuse, or improper use of a muscle. History of strenuous biking yesterday is suggestive of sprain in abdominal muscle.Strains can happen in any muscle, when you take water or food it increases pressure on the sprained muscle hence causing pain.

A mild strain may heal within a few weeks. A more severe strain may take 6 weeks or longer. To help relieve pain: Put an ice pack, gel pack, or package of frozen vegetables wrapped in a cloth on the area every 3 to 4 hours for up to 20 minutes at a time.Ice can be applied for 10 to 15 minutes every hour for the first 24 to 48 hours when the injury is in the acute stage. Rest until there is no pain.

Take tylenol twice daily for 3 days.
Give rest to your body till complete healing.
Don't drink lots of water in one go rather take 2 sips every few minutes from a shaker.

What would your 2nd diagnosis be. I think I would be able to detect a muscle strain or pullled muscle.

Also After the 3rd episode more than an hour ago, I have not had a reoccurrence of the paint, even though I have drank over a half liter of water.
