Question: My 6 year old son has frequent loose stools with abdominal cramps and now he has a purple dots all over his butt cheeks- should I be concerned?
The day before yesterday the loose stools started and he went at least once an hour. Yesterday was better he went a few times in the morning and was fine most of the day, he pooped before bedtime then woke up at 3am and has gone 3-4 times since then - I just saw this rash this morning

But purple dots indicate infection of skin ( bacterial or fungal like candida)

This is not skin breakdown from the diarrhea, he does have that surrounding his rectum - this is like papura on the butt checks - it is serparatevand distant from the skin breakdown - it is dry and flat

Yes skin breakdown is very common and is reddish.
But these purple dry and flat dots could be fungal or bacterial infection like i mentioned earlier.
