Question: I have been treated for bronchitis and kidney infection with an antibiotic. i completed the medicine and still have pain in my left kidney along with a serious bout of asthma. My family doctor is difficult to get in - his appointment book tends to be full. I left a message for him to call me. my insurance will not pay a hospital if i go to the ER.

Brief Answer:
Better to get done ultrasound examination of abdomen.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should definitely consult doctor and get done ultrasound examination of abdomen, urine microscopic examination and complete blood count (CBC) to rule out urine infection.
Infection in the body (anywhere) can worsen asthma.
So infection must be controlled first to relieve all symptoms.
So get all above mentioned reports.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.

i think i had a bladder or urinary infection: stinging, slightly cloudy smelly urine. started almost a week ago ... not too distracting, never went to Dr. was going away yesterday. Also had excruciating back pain, but in lower back, where I have chronic discomfort over past 15+yrs. In fact i called osteo/massage therapist for my usual help call which is about every 3 months or so - interestingly timed about 3-4 days pre-menstrual period, so I figured it was that. Tonight, I wake u with strong ache in back, higher than usual & on one side, like I ve been punched. Also shivering uncontrollably! it is chilly, but I couldn t type 15 min ago... I m hoping not a kidney infection & plan to go to Dr. first thing tomorrow Funny coincidences or possibly serious?

hello, I had symptoms that seemed like the stomach virus, but my back was hurting too, I had nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, exhaustion while doing daily activities, no energy , and muscle aches, I also urinate frequently but I have no fever just a bothersome feeling in my back, not really pain, just this feel of kind of heaviness and achy all I feel like doing is sleep, I looked on line and it seems like I could have a kidney infection. im not sure.
