Suggest Treatment For Left Hip Bursitis

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Nov 2016
Question: After an acute, and what I would call extreme, episode of left hip bursitis starting in April 2016, treated with an injection that did nothing, and 3 P.T. visits, I am now almost 6 months later left with a low grade chronic left hip discomfort, exacerbated by any real exercise. Should I seek out more medical treatment?

Brief Answer:
you do need further evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

How was your day?

Hope this message finds you in good health.

I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.

6 months of pain due to hip bursitis is too long a period to be suffering from it.
ideally, hip bursitis should be completely cured within 1-2 months period.

just wanted to know how exactly the diagnosis was confirmed by your doctor.

other differential diagnosis like tendinitis and quadratus femoris syndrome need to be ruled out. bursitis in itself is a self limiting disease.

another possibility , is an early lumbar disc prolapse or an early sciatica. These may also cause similar symptoms.

i would like to advice you an mri of left hip and lumbosacral spine to know whats the exact pathology.

you do need more medical treatment for sure. you cant leave this low grade chronic pain to remain like this. you should be totally painfree.

do get the investigations done and let me know.

you will be fine in a few days, nothing to worry.

I hope your question has been answered.

Feel free to consult me anytime for follow-up queries.

Take care,God bless.
Wish you a healthy life : )
