Hi rv sreenivas

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

How was your day?

Hope this message finds you in good health.

I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.

actually its sad that your son has got his nerve cut during surgery, which should not occur from any doctor.

Nerves are main parts of our body, and should be taken care of.

I have seen his photograph, its a big foot drop and pretty much swelling.

swelling may be due to the fact that he cannot use his limb much. Less movements causes stagnation of blood in his limbs causing swelling..
Tablets will reduce the swelling temporarily.

I will like to know in detail about which surgery was performed on him that cut his nerve.please attach old reports if you have.

i suggest you to get his nerve conduction studies and eleclromyography of the limb to see which nerves and muscles are alive now and in what percent.
Depending on that,we have two permanent solutions-
1. Tendon transfer- transfer of alive muscle to dead muscles to improve foot drop.
2. Nerve grafting- a new nerve is used to replaced a old dead one.

Both these are permanent solutions and should be done only by a good superspeciality plastic surgeon.

He should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about, as long as i am there to help you

I hope your question has been answered.

Wish you a healthy life : )
