Brief Answer:
Please, get the knees examined!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this problem you have reported. It is difficult to tell what the exact disease condition is but, being unable to straighten the knee, sever pain and the grinding sound are enough reasons to get concerned. I will suggest that you get this knee examined and a basic X-ray done to understand what the exact problem could be. This would guide treatment as to whether you may need just drugs or need other orthopedic measures for treatment purposes.

For now, avoid straightening the leg, avoid bearing pain on the right knee, apply cold packs and also take Tylenol and Ibuprofen to reduce the pains and discomfort.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel fre to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Is it possible it could be some form of arthiritis? And im taking paracetemol but am unable to take ibuprofen which is very difficult when in this kind of pain i shall try and get a doctors appointment tomorrow. Is it also possible that my meniscus has worn away or torn? Just worrying as i hate limping and want something done about something now

Brief Answer:
It could be any structure but examinations would tel us what to do!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up.

Only examination and investigations would tell us exactly what happened. I will like that you stay calm, manage the pain and all would be sorted out and addressed accordingly when you are examined and tests done. It is not great limping but we cannot also do otherwise.

I wish you well.
