Brief Answer:
Follows.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that your mother is probably having knee osteoarthritis as is evident from the history . There is no cure for it except for joint replacement rest all measures are aimed at halting its progression .

She should take a joint supplement like lubrijoint which helps in synovial fluid maintainence . Doing quadriceps exercises that your physiotherapist must have told you is the best measure . Vitamin D supplements are must along with calcium.

Next she should avoid sitting with crossed legs or squatting and climbing stairs . And last but not the least she should lose weight as she is overweight as it will relieve the joint of carrying excess weight and thus resulting in reduced wear tear of joint .

Take care.
