Question: Am 28 years old... I had five kidney stones.. The biggest among it has come out... The remaining are 3 to 4 mm. Two in the right kidney and two in the left kidney... The doctor had asked me to continue with potassium citrate syrup for another 2 months... Is it aprropriate to continue that for another two months.?Or is there anything else i can do?

Brief Answer:
Please Clarify the following....

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Welcome Back,

I've gone through your query and appreciate your concern,

Now 3-4 mm of Kidney stones should come out within a period of time with additional help of urinary alkalinizer(eg. potassium citrate syrup in this case) and proper hydration..

That being said , there are few ifs and buts depending on their location in the Renal pelvis or calyces , so can you please upload the USG-report or IVP (or any other investigations like CT-KUB whichever performed) so that I can take a detailed look at it before guiding you.. let me know about the report of Urine routine microscopy along with culture sensitivity also, if done lately..

Also let me know if there's any pain , fever, past history of UTI ..

Try to maintain good hydration as Summer has already started, so at least drink 4-5 Ltr of water per day to keep the renal function well maintained and be vigilant while passing urine..

Awaiting for your reply..

Regards

Thank you for your prompt response. Am XXXX friend. Am a female.
I did not have any fever but i did have pain... The last pain i got was ten days ago before the stone passed out.
I didn't have UTI either.
Sometimes i experience lower back pain on the left side.
I will upload some of the recent reports.

Brief Answer:
Chances are there, depending from person to person..

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear, Welcome back ,

Thanks for following up but you haven't shared the most important investigation result which I specifically asked for (the Imaging Study report which revealed the the kidney stone), without proper imaging report it's not at all possible to clarify if the remaining stones are going to pass..

You have actually uploaded the same CBC report (which is within normal limits only) three times, so please try to upload the imaging study report , so that I can have some idea about the stone's exact location and other findings..

Meanwhile just follow the advice which I've already given to you in my previous reply..

It's good that you don't have any of those symptoms , which means there's no indwelling infection.. Yes pain can be there from time to time , that's why for a better assessment i need to get those reports..

Awaiting for your response..

Take Care

Kind Regards
