Brief Answer:
needs intervention

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for writing back. The stone size of 8mm needs intervention. Based on the location of the stone, it can be removed surgically through basketing or through shock wave therapy.

The one at 4.5mm size can be left alone now as it is not harmful to you, and it can be passed out through urine. You need to drink plenty of water.

Since it is causing pain and severe swelling in the hands and face, you definitely need a renal function assessment through measurement of GFR, serum creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen levels. If your kidney functions are deteriorating, you would need urgent intervention. Please get back to your doctor, and discuss about the same at the earliest.

I understand that it is frustrating and upsetting but you must take care of your health. Hence, please discuss with your doctor again about the same.

Get well soon.
