Suggest Treatment For Itchy Scalp

Question: Hello doctor need your help for my mother she is having such scalp on her hair side which is quiet itchy,currrently she is using halox s ointmnent

Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be psoriasis of the scalp which is a chronic inflammatory disease of the scalp and body.
I would recommend your mother to apply halox S lotion on the affected areas of the scalp twice daily.
Besides this she should use a shampoo containing combination of salicylic acid and coal tar twice weekly.
For itching she can take tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
These are prescription drugs and she needs to consult a doctor to get them.
