Question: My father is 78 years old. On both of his hand he got acne like bloody structures with acute itching and redness. Few month back he got this on whole body and after using creams mometazone + clarithomyxin for month and levocetrizine it got cured.
Now again this is happening on both hands. Skin at back where he got in past is also turing black.
He takes BP med telpress bid & baclofem since last 7 years bid. Further levocetrizine 5 mg at night. No other physical problem just cant walk without support because of spinal problem since 8 years.

Hello and Welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query.

I would keep a possibility of Lichen planus, however, I would be able to understand the condition better if you can upload a clear digital photograph of the lesions.

Regards

Sir photos uploaded. One photo that showing black skin is of back with itching only. Last time this place was filled with acne like structures which rupture with little blood and a lot of itching.. Rest all are of hands.

Brief Answer:
Lichen planus/ Ls ch

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Thanks. This is Lichen Planus/Lichen simplex chronicus (Ls ch).

I would suggest a topical potent steroid + antibiotic combination cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks ( e.g Dipgenta cream or Tenovate-Gn cream).

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily in the evening and Tab. Allegra 120 mg once daily in the morning would provide him symptomatic relief from itching.
