Suggest treatment for itchy hives

Question: If someone got a prednisone shot for poison ivy and how has itchy hives what do we do.

Hello,

Along with prednisone, one can take injectable or oral anti-histamines like Chlorpheniramine or Avil. This would take care of the itchy hives.

Also, apply calamine lotion on the affected areas to soothen them and help to reduce the hives.
