Question: I had unprotected sex and now have itchy bumps that spread on the side of my penis.

I saw the pictures sent by you.
Grouped tiny ulcers with an erythematous base seem that they are very much akin to that of Herpes Simplex infection of genitals. Most likely be due to HSV 2 infection. Confirm the diagnosis with simple tests and it is not very difficult to treat the same. Acyclovir, Famcyclovir, Valcylovir are the drugs of choice. Consult your physician and get well.
HSV infection is not a life threatening disease. Recurrence will usually be there. Avoid sex during the manifestations of the lesion.
