Question: I have tiny itchy bumps around my cuticles around the base of the nail and also at the top it's very red and itchy and sometimes the skin breaks at the top leaving it very raw. what is it and what is the best remedy
?

Number of nails are affected and which all?
Since how long you have this problem?
Complete medical history like diabetes or metabolic disease

In my opinion it might be related to infection, inflammation, allergy, injury or nutritional deficiency.

I have had this problem for a week now. I have been on Naftin for fungus on 6 of my nails I believe due to an strong antibiotic taken in early august. Also a week or so ago got a yeast infection. Took Monostat 7. These itchy bumps are on the 6 nails that have the fungus. No medical history of any problems. Actually I am quite healthy. On our life insurance, my husband and I are in the top category for prime.

Yeast infection may take time to clear completely, so here I would like to know have you seen any improvement in the condition?

You are taking correct medicine if it is a fungus infection which can be confirmed by biopsy test.

In my opinion you should continue with monistat for 2 to 4 weeks, once weekly tablet.
You can take anti allergic drug like fexofenadine or levocetirizine for itching.
Meanwhile keep your nail clean and moist
You should take multivitamin and calcium supplements.

Yes a little improvement. My dermo. wants me to stay on naftin for 4 weeks.
