Suggest Treatment For Itching On Scalp And The Ear Canal

Question: Itch on scalp. Doctor'd prescribed amcinonide lotion 0.1%, for scalp and ear canal itch. But then my pharmacist warned me that long-term use of HCs can thin your skin. Must I stop using it for that purpose, go back to MD--or continue as is? I use it at most 1-2x/week. I haven't noticed any thinning--which I do have on my temples from when I used it on my own initiative on my temples for rosacea.

Amcinonide is topical glucocorticoid, thinning is one of the side effects, frequency not known, more commonly occurs on the face.
