Question: I have a dull ache in the lower left side of my back that causes me to have frequent bowel movements with minimal relief. I have been treated with steroids frequently by Dr. I can't seem to get a diagnosis because the symptoms are misunderstood. The ache goes from lower left side of back, through the hips and down into my leg. Can you help?

I have studied your case.
As per your history and symptoms it can be irritable bowel syndrome.
Back pain is common in irritable bowel syndrome.

Another possibility of disc bulge leading to back and radiating leg pain.

I will advise you CT abdomen, USG pelvis, MRI spine, along with blood investigation like TIBC, sr ferritin, Intrinsic factor, B12, VitD.

Taking steroid without diagnosis may lead to hazardous side effects.
