Suggest Treatment For Internal Hemorrhoids

Question: I have been suffering for months with grade 2/3 internal haemorrhoids. The main symptom was I would have to double wipe after a bm about 30 mins later. Nothing excessive at all but enough that my anus was always irritated and sore . I use baby wipes and then use shower head to clean. I got them banded 5 days ago but symptoms have not improved at all yet. I think the bands are still in place but can't tell. I assume the hemmorroids caused the problem as I never had this issue until I got them. My own proctologist is unhelpful. Would you know how long it normally takes for this to improve. Or should I have seen improvement already . Also have you heard of a hemmoroid causing this issue? Someone told me it could be fecal matter trapped by it or XXXXXXX but it's been 5 days since banding and it's still happening Thank you

You have improvement already. Stop doing excessive wiping. It is harmful.

Hello,
I can understand your concern for your symptoms.
1) Band will be at place for 10-12 days. Once distal part of hemorrhoid beyond th band get fibrosed then band will slough out.
2) Minimal perianal pain after band ligation is acceptable. You might see improvement in this within 7-10 days from procedure.
3) Even excessive wiping will lead to development of sore at anal canal region (specially after any procedure). You must avoid it.
4) No. Fecal matter can not trap inside band. This is not possible at all.

Sorry I did not understand the answer. My question was have you heard of hemmorroids causing the need to go back and wipe about 30 mins after bm. I hear the hemoirroid not the band can trap fecal mater and release it later due to XXXXXXX You say I have improvement but I don't , I never said that. I'm assuming once the hemmorroids die and fall out due to banding this leak will stop. How can I stop excessive wiping when I have to re wipe a small amount about an hour after bowel movement Mucas not XXXXXXX sorry

Mucus discharge is not related to hemorrhoid

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,
1) No hemorrhoid can not trap the stool. This can happen only with grade 3-4 sized multiple hemorrhoids.
2) Wiping for mucus indicate more mucus discharge which is related to tear or sore or ulcer in anal canal. Mucus discharge is not related to hemorrhoid.
3) Mucus discharge has no any association with band ligation. But it will taper down once sore/ulcer/tear in anal canal healed up.
4) I mentioned "improvement" in terms of peri-anal pain.
5) Avoiding repeated wiping itself is a contributing factor for development of small tear.

Yes I had grade 2/3 hems that were banded. I think 3. All internal.

Yes, but mucus discharge has no any correlation with grading of hemorrhoid.
Mucus discharge indicate, exposed raw patch or ulcer. Generally person develop such anal fissure with hemorrhoids due to excessive straining.
trapping of stool would occur only if large sized hemorrhoids compromise the lumen of anal canal.

Ok thank you. So once that fissure heals then that will stop? I assume the banding and anoheal cream will help. Just worried this is permanent. Can haemorrhoids permanently damage sphincter ? I hear kegal exercises can re strengthen sphincter is that true?

Yes, mucus discharge will tapper down as fissure heals.
This is not permanent.
Hemorrhoid can never damage the sphincter. But surgeries (Not banding) for large sized hemorrhoids can compromise sphincter tone.
Yes Kegels exercise is very helpgul after an-rectal surgeries.
