Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Extreme Vertigo, Headache And Seasonal Allergies

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Sep 2015
Question: I woke up yesterday with exteme vertigo and it lasted on and off all day. I took Claritin and Advil for my headache. I felt better in the evening. Laid in bed all day. I have some stuffy nose due to seasonal allergies. This morning I woke up at 4 am and had a little vertigo nothing like the night before. I slept on my right side. It appears that when I slowly turn to the other side, I am ok. The other day the vertigo was extreme when i turned my head center left. Today it was when i turn my head center right. Again not as bad as the night before. Any recommendations?

Brief Answer:
It looks like BPPV. tab vertin might help

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thanks for posting in HCM.
Mostly when anybody has stuffy nose they also might complain of dizziness.
The reason behind it is there is connection between middle ear and the nose so stuffy nose or nasal congestion causes less hearing and sometimes can cause dizziness and also headache.
As you felt better with the 'epleys maneuver' that you did from internet you might be having added symptoms of BPPV.
In this case you continue with the medication that is claritin for congestion and take advil as and when you have headache. I would like to suggest you to add tab Vertin 16mg twice a day till your cold and stuffy nose symptoms persists.
It will help reduce the vertigo symptom and give you some relief.
It should be taken not more than 1 week and consult your doctor if you require prescription for the same.
Also i would like to suggest you to take steam inhalation with eucalyptus extract to relieve the congestion.
You must already be taking but still to advice that drinking hot bevareges will also feel better.
I hope i have helped your question satisfactorily.
If you have any more questions kindly write back to me will be happy to answer them.
Thank you
