Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

I am sorry to know that you are having this problem.
As you know herpes is caused by a virus and viruses don't really have any sure treamtent they usually get better as boddy produces antibodies against viruses and immunity takes over the viral attack.

One can only treat the problem symptomatically and wait for the body to produce enough immunity to coup up with the episode of disease.

**Gargle with salt water every two to three hours. Salt water will help soothe the throat as well as keep it clean. To do this, mix one teaspoon of salt with six ounces of water. Take a big sip and tilt your head back slightly. This will allow the salt water to reach the inflamed area.(avoid swallowing it)

***Take a multi-vitamin. The multi-vitamin will help keep your body strong so it can fight off the herpes simplex pharyngitis. A multi-vitamin with a high dose of vitamin C seems to work best. About 1000 mg of vitamin C is recommended to fight off viral infection, so you may have to take an additional vitamin C supplement to reach that amount.

***Rest frequently. When you're resting, your body can better concentrate on fighting off the herpes simplex virus. Make sure to get a full eight hours of sleep every night. It's also a good idea to take at least one nap during the day. When awake, take it easy and avoid any type of activity that requires your body to work hard. Examples would be exercise or heavy cleaning.

**Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is important in treating herpes simplex pharyngitis. It keeps the cells around your throat moist and boosts general immunity. This lets your body work more efficiently at attacking the infection.
Tips:

Ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be taken for pain. Follow dosing instructions.

Antibiotics?
If things keep getting worsened even after one or two weeks and don't start getting better then you can contact you doctor to start antivirals if he deems them necessary...antivirals are not proven to improve recovery to large extent but they can be advantage in some cases and can be tried.

Regrads.
