Question: How do you ease the pain of swollen saliva glands? My doctor suspects a possible stone in the glands and has me on a mycin antibiotic, drinking sour lemonade and eating sour candy and drinking lots of water. I have taken 200 mg. of Advil for the pain and have eaten. I also take 3.75mg of Ativan for anxiety disorder and 5 mg Lisinopril for high blood pressure. I am scared my throat will close up!

The treatment suggested is appropriate

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

There is definitely no relationship between inflammation of salivary gland and throat getting closed.
The treatment suggested by your doctor is appropriate and will help relieve the inflammation
Sour candy and lemonade promote secretion of saliva and help relieve blockage. It should respond in 2 to 3 days after initiation of treatment. Local application of hot water fomentation will also be helpful.

Take care
