Question: Hi, I have been trying to get pregnant fir one year. My husband and I have had all the tests done and we are both perfect. My question is; could my immune system be stopping the pregnancy and if so, is there any medication available that would stop it attacking it?

Brief Answer:
How often do you have sex in a week?

Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty getting pregnant. I have reviewed your information fully. A year is a long time but only so when the right things are being done. I will like to know how often you have been having sex in a week. Also, pregnancy is a game of chance and others take longer while others get lucky right away. I will be important to exercise some more patience and more so because all the tests are clean. If for another couple of months this fails, then there are several other approaches including reproductive assistance options. However, regular unprotected sex on most days of the week for at least one year is the recommended exposure before declaring and investigating for any difficulty in getting pregnant.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

We have sex every other day around fertile days before ovulation. My question is whether it is my immune system stopping it from happening or our bloods not matching. I was wondering if there is any medication for this if it is my immune system.

Brief Answer:
This is a very rare cause , though a possibility....I will say No for now!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for this follow up.

It is very rare to find immunological causes to infertility. Honestly, I will say try again for a couple of months before we start pushing forward. Getting pregnant requires so much patience and if you fail to do so, we will carry out several tests and aggressive procedures that may not be warranted. If you inset on this as a possible cause for the delay, I recommend you talk to your reproductive laboratory and get the tests done. However, they are probably not going to be very helpful at this point.

I wish you well.
