Question: Dear Dr XXXXXXX

Trust u r doing well, this question iam asking on behalf of my wife. We are trying for pregnancy but didn't get through from last one year. all her reports are normal and i will attach if possible here and one year back i met you at XXXXXXX cliniq with my semen reports and they are normal u said. Her Ultrasound scan shows PCOD but there is no symptoms as such and last month her period got delayed for 7 days but the pregnancy test is negative and her ovulation strip test is positive. As suggested by the gynecologist she is using chirocyst tablets, glysophase from last 8 months and 15 months back she got seizures and neurologist suggested to use Oxetol 300mg, what would be the reason for the delay in pregnancy and now the doctor has asked her to do this injection called persinal 75iu for two days, what is this injection and is there any side effect for the above said medicines. Kindly revert

Brief Answer:
IUI next step

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

I am happy to see you back.

It is normal to have delayed periods in women with PCOS. This does not mean pregnancy.

In about 30 percent of couple pregnancy is difficult to achieve even if everything is normal. This is called unexplained infertility. You seem to be one if couple with unexplained infertility.

Hence I suggest you go ahead with next step of treatment which is IUI (intrauterine insemination).

Persinal is a hormonal injection to increase follicle size and number. You can take it.

You can come back for consultation at XXXXXXX Koramangala if you wish.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Regards

Dear Dr XXXXXXX

Thank u for a swift revert. Kindly revert for my below Four queries.

1) I have gone through your few answers where you have replied to few of the couple that using OXECTOL 300gm will have side effects for the people who are planning for Pregnancy? How this will act in our case hence she is using OXETOL 300mg from last 16 months?

2) Is this IUI (intrauterine insemination) is Compulsory? what are the chances to get pregnancy naturally if we try for few more months?

3) will there be any use by taking Persinal ? Any side effects for Persinal? will these increase the egg count?

4) Can i do my sperm analysis again ? hence the last was done almost 15 months back.

Brief Answer:
You can repeat semen analysis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Following are replies to your query:

1) Oxetol needs to be avoided during pregnancy or discontinue as soon as you get pregnant. But this won't reduce the chances of pregnancy while trying.

2) IUI us preferred as you have not been able to conceive after trying for long time. Waiting further may not be a good idea.

3) Persinal in small doses is good to increase egg without side effects.

4) Repeating semen analysis again is a good idea.

Regards
