Brief Answer:
If infection still persisits then surgery is must.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query.

You have not mentioned whether the infection is in bone or in bone + soft tissue. Anyway, when ever infection occurs in bone or in soft tissue, the main thing is to do surgery and remove the infected part.

Infection usually occurs when wound is not healthy or when you body has decrease immunity as in case of diabetes mellitus etc.

It is only your operating surgeon who while doing operation, can decide, how much of the tissue is infected or necrosed, to be removed or debrided.

You should have diet rich in protein and take care of hygiene of the wound also.

Take antibiotics as schedule is advised by your doctor after doing culture and sensitivity.

Get your fasting blood sugar levels and E.S.R levels checked and send me the reports.

Also send me the report of culture sensitivity of your wound I will advise you the exact antibiotics and dressings for your wound.

Try to avoid cigarette and alcohol as much as you can as both these decrease immunity and wound healing.

I hope it helps.
