Suggest Treatment For Infected Pimple On Face

Question: Hi,
I've had 2 pimples break out on my cheek this week, not uncommon. I struggle with acne and have been using a prescribed cream for them. This morning, one had had a red circular rash around it. It doesn't itch, there are no bumps but the skin is discolored and it's a little unnerving. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Infection of acne suspected.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The lesions on your face are undoubtedly acne.
The circular red rash around the acne can be due to infection which commonly complicates acne.
The skin discoloration is also probably due to the infection.
A topical antibiotic ointment will be required to manage the condition.

I suggest you to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment and prescription of the medication.
In the meanwhile, avoid touching the acne and wash your face regularly with a soft soap.

If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.
