Question: Treatment of hypertrichosis over face due to topical steroids? I am also a doctor want more information in this topic. Thanks in advance. Need information for female patient.

Hypertrichosis is a side effect of long term use of topical steroids.
You need to stop further application of steroidal creams.
This will prevent further Hypertrichosis.
For the treatment of Hypertrichosis you need to go for laser treatment.
4-6 sittings will be required after every 4-6 weeks.
This will treat Hypertrichosis.
Otherwise it won't respond to any oral or topical medication.

Hormonal therapy and laser treatment

Detailed Answer:
In case of hypertrichosis due to PCOD the hormonal therapy and laser treatment is required.
I usually start my patients on combination of Cyproterone acetate 2 mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.035 mg once daily for 21 days in a month for at least 12-18 months along with antiandrogen like tablet Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily with monitoring of blood pressure and serum potassium levels.

Besides the hormonal therapy laser treatment is also required for hair reduction.
