Brief Answer:
Yes thyroid can be fixed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

I understand your concern.

You probably seem to have subclinical hyperthyroidism.

Yes its possible to get this fixed.

Drugs like beta blockers and methimazole for short term use is effective.

Simultaneous correction of PCOS is also needed to control the symptoms.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Treat Iron deficiency first.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

Okay I understand your concern.

Hypothyroidism diagnosis has to be made only when there is documented elevation of TSH( which is normal in your case) and low levels of T3 and T4. At this moment you don't need any treatment for your TSH.

The hair loss is related to PCOS directly.

Also correction of iron levels is also important.

Low ferritin can contribute to hair loss.

I advise you to take Minoxidil 2% hair solution for 3 months .

Additionally tab Conviron Forte 1 tab twice daily for 6 months is needed to correct iron reserves and promote hair quality and growth.

These drugs should be taken only after consulting your doctor.

Treatment for hypothyroidism is started based on lab values and not on symptoms alone, since many symptoms can overlap with iron deficiency anemia.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Hi doctor,
I was already using Minoxidil 2% and later switched to Minoxidil 10% as well.
It did not help me much. Only made my hairs grey.

i have taken iron supplements in past as well, but they did not help me either.
I was on dexorange syrum and later switched to orofer xt.
Nothing of the above have worked for me. I was on multivitamins as well.

Regarding pcos, i recently had ultasound and the results say that i dont have pcos as of now.
I have also been on finpecia. It did not help me either.

That is why i doubt for thyroid issues as i have read in many literature that some people feel better when their thyroid is less than 2.
If i can start a low dose medication on same, i think i can benefit.
i got some references from the below link:

Please advice

Brief Answer:
Possible subclinical hypothyroidism?Get T4 ,T3 level check.

Detailed Answer:
Hi .

I Understand your concern.

In case if you have not responded to any of the first line management I advise you to get a complete thyroid profile that is T3,T4,TSH.

If T3 ,T4 are found to be low, then its wise to start tab thyroxine at low dose.

Yes certainly there is definitive association between hair loss and thyroid hormone deficiency.

I have gone through the provided link as well.

Its not wise to start low dose without complete thyroid profile test.

thank you.
