Posted on Thu, 21 Sep 2017
Question: Hello, I'm a 44 yoa female with high bp. I've been on lisinoprol and amlodipine for about 4 years. Recently, my hands and feet are see, king to the point of my skin feeling and looking like it's going to pop. I have a high stress job (police officer), so I'm sure this isn't helping. What can I do about the swelling?

Detailed Answer:
Hello Maam

After going through the medical details provided by you i would like to tell you that although Amlodipine itself cause swelling in the feet but whether or not thats the case in you we have to find out.

And for that its advisable to get an ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY of your heart done by consulting a cardiologist personally. If your echo report comes out to be normal then amlodipine needs to be changed with some other suitable medicine.

Also some other tests needs to be done like
1. ECg
2. Kidney Function Test
3. Thyroid Function Test
4. Serum Albumin Levels

I hope this information will be helpful and will guide you properly.

Warm Regards
