Hi
welcome to healthcaremagic
Your son has two problems
1) right sided congenital hydrocele..for which we wait for 6 months.95% times it resolves on its own by this time.If no change then only we operate
2) left sided undescended testis..but it is seen in inguinal canal. For this too wait for 6 months.95% times it comes down to its place by this time.If not then orchidopexy operation is done

The hydrocele has been identified for 1 year and has not resolved. He had many pediatric exams which never identified the testes issue before. Is it likely it descended before and then retracted?

The newest diagnosis is the testes issue. The recommendation from the Dr. in China is hormone therapy to see if it resolves prior to surgery. Is this treatment appropriate or common for a young toddler of 2 1/2 yrs old?
If surgery is required for both issues, can both be corrected in one operation?

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for review
Hormone treatment for such problems at 1-2 years is not at all common. In fact surgery is commonly done with minimal or no side effects and very good results. Its a small procedure requiring just 24 hours stay in hospital
