Suggest treatment for hives with burning sensation

Question: My boyfriend has flu like symptoms with a bad rash like hives that look like they are going to bursts. I think its shingles. he is 56 years old and has had chicken pox as a child so I think maybe it's the case. he has major nerve pain as well

Your boyfriend seems to be suffering from herpes zoster ,the shingles in this disease happen along the nerve and nerve root
Hence they are accompanied by severe pain and burning sensation .
Acyclovir is the drug of choice and herprax ointment also helps the burning sensation and pain.
Please see a dermatologist or neurologist for confirmation and to get prescription for the medication.
Meanwhile adequate hydration is required let him drink plenty of water .
