Suggest Treatment For Hip Pain

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: I have had "left hip" pain for at least 6-8 months. This last 4-5 weeks, can hardly walk by night time & wake up every time I move while sleeping, crying out in pain. Hip X-ray reviewed by hip specialists, nothing. Sent me for a ultrasound guided steroid injection. She did not feel it was my hip muscles. Now was the new Dr. wants me to get a pelvic MRI. I am so over being shuffled around, with no answers. And am going "copay" broke.
Any suggestions on what it could be, before I get shuffled to the wrong Dr. Again?

Brief Answer:
Pelvic MRI scan will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for posting your query.

The pain in the left hip that you have can be due to a torn ligament or any other soft tissue abnormality or a nerve root compression. This can be best diagnosed by an MRI scan. An X-ray can only detect any bony abnormality in the area. It is best to get a pelvic MRI done as already suggested by your Doctor for proper diagnosis.

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
