Suggest Treatment For High Fever While On Crocin Suspension DS

Question: My daughter is sufferung from high fever from midnight. We have given her Crosin DS syrup (11ml) today morning. Her weight is 40 KG. No other identifiable symptoms.

Can you please help with right advice?

Most common cause of fever in this age is some viral infection.
Fever may be the only manifestation during initial one or two days.Other symptoms like cough,cold,pain abdomen,vomiting or loose motion may appear later on.Sometimes these symptoms may not appear at all and fever shows declining trend after 48-72 hours.
I suggest you to continue with the same crocin ds 10 ml(for 40 kg this dose is sufficient) as and when required to bring down the temperature.
Watch closely for appearance of any new symptom.If you notice any of them,any deterioration in general condition or if fever persists longer then consult a physician for management.

What is the frequency for this dose? Every after 6 hours?

Depending on the frequency of fever you may give the same dose at an interval of 6-8 hours.
I suggest you for tepid sponging also as it helps in bringing down the temperature and makes antipyretic more effective.

I am really sorry for using medical terms.By tepid sponging I mean sponging of body with cloth/sponge soaked in slight warm water.Antipyretic is nothing but the medication used to decrease temperature like paracetamol.
