Brief Answer:
Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Blood pressure is a dynamic variable and must be recorded properly as per guidelines to say if it is high. Blood pressure is high if it is above 140/ 90 mm Hg on 3 occasions when recorded at least 30 minutes after rest and by the same person using the same machine.

2. If your blood pressure recording is at random then please relax for 30 minutes before recording blood pressure to get a more accurate result.

3. If it is recorded with an electronic machine then there might be an error of 5 to 10 percent and please repeat measurement as per guidelines.

4. Should your blood pressure recording remain above 140/ 90 mm Hg even after 30 minutes of rest and when you are mentally relaxed then please consult a cardiologist to know the cause of high BP and take treatment from cardiologist.

5. At a young age, causes of high blood pressure might be due to narrowing of blood vessels in the kidneys or a condition in adrenal glands and this needs evaluation by further testing like ultrasound scan abdomen and Doppler of kidneys.

6. The cardiologist might also do other required tests like blood cholesterol, ECG and echocardiography to know any heart condition that you might have. It is important to recognize high blood pressure in the young and treat the cause.

7. Doing mind relaxation exercises like yoga and meditation helps in reducing high blood pressure. You can try having less amount of salt in your diet to control high BP. Avoid stress in any form.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
