I am having mixed emotions on this matter. I have never had any symptoms, or breakouts what so ever, all my life. I am in good health, I eat healthy, and workout 5 days a week. What should I expect now?

Brief Answer:
In absence of symptoms, these findings may be FALSE POSITIVE.

Detailed Answer:

Dear XXXX, Hi

Welcome to HCM.
I really appreciate your concern towards mixed emotions for the lab results of STD screening.

As a matter of fact results obtained with this assay are not diagnostic but they serve only as an aid to diagnosis with clinical correlation.

As stated by you, there is no history of symptoms (like rash, blisters, hot and burning sensation or itchiness) but the serological results are positive for HSV, only possibility one can think of that these lab findings may be FALSE POSITIVE.

In such cases following measures are undertaken:

Repeat testing or testing by a different method.
Careful observation of development of symptoms.

Hope the suggestions given above could be of great help to you.
Wishing you best of your health.
