Suggest Treatment For Hemorrhoids
Question: Dear sir,
Hi,I am XXXX,41 years old private sector executive and have work of continuous sitting.I do not have constipation but have gas problem and irregular daily routine.
Since last 7-8 years I am suffering from piles and it appears twice/thrice an year. During stool passing few area of anus gets swelled and in normal days it comes back in its normal condition after completing stool passing,but in case of loose motion or continuous sitting immediate after toilet the swallow area gets irritated and swells more and causes high pain and sensation(jalan),more over due to cut in the anus swallow area bleeding also starts(during stool passing only).This pain and irritation continues for almost 2-3 hours after toilet but I could not sit properly for almost 7-8 hours after toilet due to pain. I use combiflame as pain killer when it much pains.
I am suffering this problem again since last two weeks ,request you to please suggest medicine to get immediate rid of this pain/irritation and swelling.

I understand your concerns. The above mentioned symptoms are due to hemorrhoids (piles).
Conservative treatment can be tried by including a fiber rich diet like bananas, spinach, yogurt, buttermilk, plenty of fruits, vegetables, cereals and water. You can take Syrup Dulcolax 10ml every night after food for a week to soften stools.
You can do sitz bath that is sitting in a tub of XXXXXXX warm water for 15 mins in the morning and evening. You can try Anusol HC Ointment for 5 to 7 days XXXXXXX Apply it on to your anus. You can continue tab. combiflam for pain as and when required.
If the symptoms worsens it is best to meet a general surgeon for further examination and treatment. Usually in severe cases surgery is the best treatment.

Dear Mam,
Thanks for your kind advice but both the medicines suggested by you are not available at my place(as i stay in a small town), thus request you to suggest me some alternate medicines too with same composition which i can get here easily.
The medical shop person was suggesting me LIGNOCAINE GEL 2.0, will it be useful for me. Can you suggest some antibiotic which can heal relatively early.

Both the medicines I suggested are available commonly throughout XXXXXXX If the pharmacist doesn't have, I would suggest you meet your family doctor for the prescription. You can try Zinc oxide cream or ointment. Petroleum jelly or coconut oil are other options. Vitamin E oil can also be applied to the affected area.
I would not advice you to use Lignocaine as it is an anaesthetic and acts only for around 5 to 10 mins. It cannot be used as an ointment.
If you are having fever, discharge of pus or swelling filled with pus near your anus, antibiotics should be considered. I don't think your symptoms need antibiotics.
I would suggest you try home remedies like fiber rich diet (bananas, spinach, fruits and vegetables). Aerobic exercise for 20-30 minutes per day can help to stimulate bowel function. Sitting on a cushion rather than a hard surface helps reduce swelling.
