Suggest Treatment For Hematoma On The Shin

Posted on Wed, 2 Aug 2017
Question: I smashed my right shin into a beach wall 1 week ago. I was cut in 2 places on the front of my shin that bled & have now scabbed over. Black and blue all up and down the shin which is healing. However, I have a very large goose egg in the middle of the shin where 1 of the cuts is. It is not resolving after icing & compression. Still very painful to the touch. What can I do to resolve the goose egg.

Thank you for your response.

Area is painful when touched, but better than last week since I can now put jeans on. Initially walking was very painful, but no longer. Goose egg is larger than when it happened, hard to the touch, but not warm at all. No other systemic issues at all, no ailments, etc..
