Question: I've had this bizarre flu, I think it's flu. Don't really know. I get sea sickness like feeling , not really dizzy. My heart beats so hard it'll make me sway back and forth. I get tired easily and feel just really crappy, and incredibly hungry. Like my stomach is a black hole and the food gets burnt up by my body before it even gets to my stomach. Is it flu or maybe allergic reaction?

Brief Answer:
A little more information please.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM.

Your symptoms do not fit into either flu or allergy. Headache, dizziness and gut symptoms can mean many issues from common migraine to cardiac.

Please mention if you have any Hypertension or diabetes or any chronic headaches or anything else. Do you also have palpitations or ringing sensation in ears or any peptic ulcer disease?

Waiting for your reply.

I have no hypertension or diabetes that I know of. I've had a mild headache with this thing, but don't get them normally. I've had tinnitus for a long time anyway, but when my heart is beating strong like I described it does beat a little irregularly, or seems to be. About eight days before these symptoms started I took a blow to my head when a 12 to 15lb object fell off a shelf about 20" above me.

Brief Answer:
vestibular disease??

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I think it is related to vestibular organ problem (like simple vertigo, vestibular neuronitis). It is also prudent to get a physical examination done to rule out common aliments like hypertension which can well cause similar symptoms.

For the time being, you may try cinnarizine tablets 25 mg twice a day before you consult your doctor. I believe they are available OTC.

I would also suggest an ECG and CT scan of head.

Please feel free to post further queries if you have any.

I have been under some stress. I have a customer who is an emergency room doctor. He looked at the wound the next day and said it was already healing nicely. I didn't lose consciousness or anything like that.. So you think it is complications from the head injury?

Brief Answer:
I don't think so.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is difficult to tell whether the injury is superficial or deep from the picture. I personally feel it is a simple scalp laceration with clear margins under healing. One or two sutures will enhance healing and reduce the chances of infection. I don't think your symptoms are a result of complications from the head injury.
As you did not loose consciousness or have vomiting, it is probably an uncomplicated injury. However, sometimes, the symptoms may be delayed and may well deviate us from the suspicion of injury as the cause. Hence i would recommend you to consult your doctor.
All the best.
