i had developed some tooth ache ,headache and pain behind my left eye . I went to the dentist and he prescribed amamoxicilline 500 and i have been taking it for the last week.
after a week on amoxicilline 500 i noticed that the tooth pain has not reduced much and also i keep getting headaches and the pain in my left eye also keeps coming back .

What would cause this . Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Deep decay in tooth, needs treatment..

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome to HCM

As per your complain as you have a cavity in tooth that seems to be deep enough to be causing toothache and is probably due to nerve irritation caused by deep tooth decay..
The pain behind eye and headache is radiating pain from the tooth site..
You are advised Amoxicillin 500 mg that is an antibiotic and will reduce infection but in case of deep tooth decay treatment of tooth has to be done for resolution if pain..
Secondly you also need to take painkiller to relieve pain..
So as your pain did not subside you need to start taking painkillers like Ibuprofen, Diclofenac etc and along with it consult an Endodontist and get evaluated..
He can take an x ray for evaluation of depth of the decay..
He can treat you accordingly..
In case if tooth is in a condition to be saved then Root Canal Treatment can be done followed by tooth capping..
In case if there is extensive decay extraction is advisable..
You can also revert me back with scan of x Ray so that I can guide you accordingly..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
