Suggest Treatment For Hard Lump On Neck

default
Posted on Thu, 14 May 2015
Question: I had a hard ball on my neck and unfortunately tried to pop it. It was very hard and not like a normal pimple. It ended up becoming inflamed and there is now this very hard circular ball under the skin (if you gently squeeze under you feel it). It does not seem to be anything but hardened skin, and the top layer is shiny and pink, but if gently squeeze, can see lighter (dead?) skin. I am worried why it stays hard, and also don't want a scar. Hopefully it won't turn white if I just put stem cell cream on it and leave it alone. What is hard ball? What should I do. It has been 2 weeks.

Hi there. I just saw this since my computer told me I was unable to finalize payment for this service, so assumed question did not go through.

Thanks for your response and the information.

I don't have a picture just yet, but am applying lifeline stem cell cream to it twice a day. Will it go away on it's own if your diagnosis is right (I realize you would need a picture to confirm).

Thank you,
Kim

Brief Answer:
Take treatment for infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

My assumption is you may have developed a lesion of foliculitis or pyoderma. And topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin works better on it. Apply the cream over the affected area twice daily. And keep the affected area clean and dry.

Stem cell cream will surely aid in healing, but keeping the area clean and application of an antibiotic is very essential . You might a course of oral antibiotics if the lesion tends to persist or increase.
You may take some oral anti inflammatory agent like ibuprofen or paracetamol along to bring down pain and inflammation.

Please post a picture whenever you are able to.
